Walk the Bridges Over Evans Creek Preserve's Wetlands

Enjoy the ecological diversity of this farmstead-turned-nature-preserve. Sold to the city of Sammamish in 2000, the WTA developed this beautiful natural landscape into a fully accessible suburban nature preserve reachable by public transportation.

Stroll through the meadow, practice your birdwatching skills, and take in all the flora and fauna often absent from suburban life. The wooden bridges provide you with a clear path through precious wetlands to explore and marvel at the sights.

Explore It All at Marymoor Park

King County's largest and oldest park boasts 640 acres full of recreation, activities, and entertainment. Some notable features include a large off-leash dog park, hiking trails, rock climbing, a velodrome, and even an amphitheater that hosts concerts, movies, and other public events. Before you leave, be sure to check out the western end of the park, where you'll discover one of the oldest public gardens in the US, cultivated by the Marymoor Community Gardner's Association.

Take a Dip at Idylwood Beach Park

Head over to Idylwood Beach Park to enjoy Lake Sammamish's only free recreational access area. You'll find a clean, sandy beach to enjoy the sun. There is a small boat ramp, a pier to fish from, and a playground as well. Locals love to make good use of the large grassy area to play any number of games. If you plan to enjoy the beach during the hot months, be sure to bring your own chair and plan for a bit of a crowd.
