Puget Sound Sailing Institute

Enjoy the freedom of sailing with the Puget Sound Sailing Institute. All of the teachers are USGC licensed and ASA Instructor certified. They boast years of experience and make the lessons fun and easy to understand. Try the ASA 101 Basic Keelboat course. Over two days, you will learn things like navigational rules, seamanship, sailing terminology, and more. After becoming ASA 101 certified, you can become a member of the institute's Sailing Club. Perks include no boat maintenance, no moorage fees, and no winter boat storage fees. You will also never have any problems finding experienced people to sail with.

Seattle Sailing Club

At the Seattle Sailing Club, you will learn from some of the country's most experienced sailors. You can work at your own pace, and the instructors will help you make the most of every minute on Puget Sound. Beginners start with the ASA 101 Basic Keelboat class. You'll spend three hours in a classroom and twelve hours on the water. Progress to other sessions like ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising and ASA 105 Coastal Navigation.

Windworks Sailing and Powerboating started offering charters and lessons in 1992. It's found inside the Shilshole Marina and welcomes beginning and experienced sailors alike. Those new to sailing start with Basic Keelboat before progressing to Basic Cruising and Bareboat Cruising. More experienced sailors can enhance their skills during Navigation & Piloting, Passagemaking, and other sessions.
