If you would like to meet friends for a picnic, head to one of these parks near our Redmond, WA apartments where you're sure to enjoy an afternoon to remember:

Seward Park

Spanning 300 acres, Seward Park features an old-growth forest, eagles' nests, and a native plant garden. It was named after William H. Seward, who was responsible for America's purchase of Alaska in 1867. Picnickers can spread a blanket near the water to watch the boating action.

After your meal, visit the Seward Park Audubon Center. Its mission is to inspire people to protect birds and the places they need today and tomorrow. Throughout the year, the center offers events such as bat treks, owl prowls, and guided bird walks. 

Volunteer Park

Nestled in the heart of Seattle, Volunteer Park is famous for its dahlias that bloom by the dozens. The city purchased the park from a sawmill engineer in 1876. The land was improved with paths, flowers, and picnic tables between 1887 and 1904. It's a local favorite, and visitors can enjoy a scenic walk after their meal.

Volunteer is also the home of the Asian Art Museum. It is found inside a 1933 Art Deco building and features an extensive collection. The museum is one of Seattle's most beloved treasures, and it preserves today and inspires tomorrow. 

Golden Gardens Park

With views of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound, Golden Gardens is not to be missed. The park offers sunbathing on sandy beaches and a hike along a rugged coastline. It was established in 1907 as an attraction at the end of the new electric car line.

Picnickers can also enjoy a game of beach volleyball on the drop-in court. Four other courts are available at eight dollars an hour.
