If you’re looking for a unique way to spend a summer day, get in your car, put on your favorite music, and go for a scenic drive near Redmond that will take your breath away. Here are two day trips that you can take close to our Redmonds apartments.

Chuckanut Drive

About two hours north of Redmond you will reach this scenic byway. Known as Washington's Big Sur, it is a 24-mile curvy road, built on the rim of the sandstone cliffs of the Chuckanut Mountains. It offers gorgeous views of the San Juan Islands and the Chuckanut Bay. At the end of the road is Larrabee State Park, Washington's first state park. It offers an amazing view of Samish Bay, and it also has a campground. About 3/4th of a mile away, you can explore the numerous tide pools of Clayton Beach. Be sure to head back to the Drive and find a viewpoint to enjoy the most spectacular sunset nature has to offer.

Stevens Pass Greenway

Head north from Redmond towards Monroe, then follow the Skykomish River to continue on to the Stevens Pass Greenway. The road winds through the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains and passes through a series of small historic towns. If you happen to stop at the railroad town of Skykomish for a snack break, make sure to stop to admire the Deception Falls, which are right off the highway. Shortly after, you enter the famous Stevens Pass ski destination. Here you will be blown away at the magnificent surrounding vistas. The drive ends at Coles Corner, but if you have time you can head on to Lake Wenatchee via state Route 207.
