For a fun-filled day outdoors, head to the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden. Full of colorful blooms, it was created to "preserve some of the area's most treasured gardens." Here is some of what the garden offers near our Redmond apartments:

Seike Japanese Garden

Nestled in the eastern corner, the Seike Japanese Garden offers something different with every season. It was the personal garden of the Seike family and is a place of peace and contemplation. As you explore, you'll see highlights like a waterfall and a gnarled laceleaf Japanese maple tree that's over 100 years old.

Elda Behm's Paradise Garden

With chirping birds and the sounds of waterfalls, you'll forget Elda Behm's Paradise Garden is near the airport. Meandering paths lead through colorful flowers from spring through fall. Check out the botanical garden's Instagram page to see what is in bloom.

Puget Sound Daylily Club

The Puget Sound Daylily Club maintains a collection of daylilies at the botanical garden. The selection demonstrates the flowers' "beauty, versatility, longevity, and easy maintenance." Not to be missed, the garden blooms between mid-June and the end of July.

Seattle Rose Society

Founded in 1913, the Seattle Rose Society promotes roses through memberships and educational programs. Its garden at Highline SeaTac is full of color and blooms from May into November.

Volunteer

If you enjoy spending time outdoors, become a botanical garden volunteer. The volunteers meet on Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. You can help as little or as much as you like. Duties may include planting, plant identification, and general garden maintenance like raking, mulching, and weeding.
