Warm summer weather is a great motivation to get out and enjoy nature. Luckily, the Pacific Northwest is a haven for outdoor activities thanks to numerous scenic and well-maintained hiking destinations. Many of these are within a 30-minute drive of our Redmond apartments. Here are three scenic Redmond area trails that are perfect for an invigorating day communing with nature. Don't forget to have a facial covering handy for crowded areas and practice safe social distancing!

Evans Creek Preserve

This trail system, located about 20 minutes from our Parkside apartments, is home to colorful wildflower meadows, verdant forests, and a wide variety of wild animals. The 3.5-mile loop trail meanders in the green woods and makes for a soothing and relaxing mid-day adventure, great for beginners and experienced hikers alike.

Poo Poo Chirico Trail

Part of the Tiger Mountain trail system, the Poo Poo Chirico trail is currently open for day use. This 4-mile round trip hike is a bit more challenging, with an 1850 ft elevation gain. However, it is well worth it when you reach the first lookout and gaze out over an expansive view of Mount Rainier and the valley below. Traveling even further up the hill will take you to a landing spot overlooking Lake Sammamish where paragliders regularly take flight on a clear day.

Little Si

This amazing hiking destination is about a 30-minute drive from Redmond. Little Si is a rocky bluff with a 3.7 miles round trip hike that will lead you through a wooded forest to a vista with a stunning view of Mount Si and Mount Washington. The trail also features a scenic picnic spot early on if you need a rest.
