Enjoy a Tasting This Weekend at Wineries near Redmond

As vineyards across the state start to blossom, winemakers are reopening their wineries for tours and tastings. You can enjoy some of the world’s finest wine near Redmond. Whether you're a connoisseur or simply enjoy sharing a bottle with friends, you'll love visiting these wineries a short drive from our apartments in Redmond, WA.

Columbia Winery

Columbia Winery was founded over 50 years ago by friends passionate about European-style wine made in Washington's unique climate. This perfectionism continues today with its famous series of region-specific wines. Try the earthy Cabernet Sauvignon from the Red Mountain wine region, or the refreshing Stratos, a white blend from the Columbia Valley. Visits are currently by reservation only. Wine tastings are held on a picturesque farm surrounded by vineyards.

Orenda Winery

Located at the base of the Cascade Mountains, Orenda Winery highlights nature's influence on the winemaking process. Its award-winning wines are made from grapes grown in the highest elevation vineyards in Washington. The mountainous climate causes grapes to ripen slower, resulting in a subtler wine. This effect can be tasted in Orenda Winery's distinctive Sangiovese. Typically smoky and intense, this Italian varietal becomes softer and slightly fruitier due to the cooler climate. You can visit the 3.5-acre estate on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on other days by appointment.

Mount Si Winery

Calling their style garagiste, a French insult for winemakers who make wine in their garages, Mount Si Winery takes fun very seriously. Focusing mainly on bold red wines, this independent winery emphasizes quality over quantity. Wine tastings are every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., but be sure to check the calendar before you go. Mount Si Winery has two tasting rooms that the team alternates between each weekend. If you can, try to visit the tasting room in Snoqualmie, about a half-hour drive from Redmond—there, you can see the charming "garage cellar."

After a day of tasting some of the finest wine near Redmond, grab some fresh food at a Japanese restaurant near Parkside. For more information on our apartments in Redmond, contact us today.
