A permanent exhibition, Nordic Journeys takes visitors on a fun adventure that spans 12,000 years and 1.3 million square miles. It also covers the five Nordic countries. Objects on display include the contents of a Viking's grave, traditional home items, and utilitarian axes.

Permanent Collection

The museum's permanent collection features more than 80,000 items from Nordic immigrants. They date between 1840 and today. Highlights include photographs, manuscripts, and paintings by renowned Danish-American Dines Carlsen. In addition, the collection also contains instruments and audio and video recordings that document Nordic dance and folk music.

National Nordic Museum Store

Before leaving, stop by the National Nordic Museum Store. It features unique items inspired by Nordic living design trends that have become popular in the United States. The varied collection includes Swedish dishcloths, Nordic craft kits, and Dale of Norway Alvoy hats. The store is open Tuesday through Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. To save time, shop online and pick up your order during business hours.
