At the Renewal Food Bank, the mission is to provide nutritious food to the community's most vulnerable citizens. It helps nearly 300 families every week. The food comes from generous donors, and customers can do their own shopping to choose what's best for their families. As a volunteer, you can deliver food to housebound individuals and perform other tasks. Fill out the volunteer interest form, and someone will contact you with more information.
The University District Food Bank works to build a hunger-free northeast Seattle. It began from humble beginnings in 1983 with a donated home refrigerator that offered enough space to store perishable items. By 1985, University District was the fifth-largest food bank in Seattle. Volunteers can donate their time Monday through Saturday. Duties include greeting visitors, stocking, and helping customers bag groceries. Get started by filling out the online application.
Also founded from humble beginnings, the Concern for Neighbors Food Bank now has two trucks and a warehouse. It serves an average of 110 households every week. The volunteers come from all backgrounds, and some have a lot of time to donate, while others only have a few hours every week. Tasks include sorting food, distributing donations, and checking in clients. Volunteers who speak Spanish, Russian, or Ukrainian are especially in demand.
After volunteering, enjoy a delicious dinner at a Mexican restaurant. You can sample tacos, tamales, and other tasty dishes. Finally, to call our apartments in Redmond home, please contact us. We will gladly show you everything you can enjoy as a resident of Parkside.
