If you enjoy taking art classes, try your hand a glass art. Dating back centuries, it offers a fun way to learn about mosaics, glassblowing, stained glass, and more. When you are ready to get crafty, head to one of these studios near our Redmond apartments:
Pratt is the only facility in the Northwest where total beginners work alongside seasoned professional artists. The instructors offer a creative setting. They help students hone their skills and actively support the development of visual arts. Try Beginning Beadmaking. You'll learn to work with hot glass on a small scale to create one-of-a-kind beads. Covered topics include surface design, basic bead shapes, and molten glass manipulation. No previous experience is required.
As a family doctor, Claire Barnett never dreamed of opening a mosaic studio. She started making creative mosaic pieces after suffering a tragic loss. Today, Claire owns Seattle Mosaic Arts and is committed to the growth of this art form in the Pacific Northwest. The studio offers two ways to learn. Become a member and enjoy one-on-one lessons, or enroll in the home intro class featuring everything you need to craft amazing pieces on your kitchen table.
Since the early 1990s, the Seattle Glassblowing Studio has fostered creativity. Owner Cliff Goodman boasts years of experience, and his love of the natural world is reflected in his unique works. In-person private classes are available daily by appointment. They last two to three hours, and students typically make three to five pieces. Shorter create-your-own lessons are also available.
Before class, enjoy a sweet treat at a local donut shop. Finally, to call Parkside home, please contact us. Our team will schedule a tour of our apartments in Redmond, where you can discover everything our vibrant community has to offer.
