If you’re looking for a fun way to spend a summer afternoon close to our Redmond apartments, try out one of the fastest growing sports in America: disc golf. It's fun, quick to learn, and easy to play. Luckily, several scenic local parks are home to courses where you can play disc golf near Redmond.
Less than 15 minutes from Parkside, Juel Park is known for two things: its community garden and disc golf. There are 9 holes with dual tees. The course is flat scattered trees, which makes it perfect for beginners. Juel Park also has walking trails, picnic tables, and a community garden. There is plenty of open space where you can practice your disc throws, kick a soccer ball around, or spread out a blanket and soak up some vitamin D.
About 16 minutes away, Nick Loutsis Park is small but beautiful. There are nine baskets on the flat disc golf course. Bring walking shoes so after your round you can explore the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. The trail is over 30 miles long and passes working farms. Pack plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen!
The drive to Mineral Springs Park (also known as North Park) is about 35 minutes, but it's worth it if you want a challenge. The unique disc golf course is located on the grounds of an old arboretum. Enjoy the art walk and "Cloud Stones" while you're here.
After a long, fun day of disc golf in Redmond, treat yourself to a delicious seafood dinner at home with ingredients from local markets.
