While Redmond's history as a thriving agricultural community eventually gave way to the tech industry, you can still find plenty of locally grown produce throughout the area. From farmers markets to u-pick farms, a short drive from our apartments in Redmond will take you to farm fresh food.
Redmond Saturday Market
This large and diverse farmers market is not only going strong after 40 years, it's protected by city ordinance so future generations are ensured access to fresh food and a strong sense of community. The market opens in early May and runs through late October. You'll find farmers from all over the Puget Sound region, offering everything from fruits and vegetables to cheese and salmon. Local artisans display their wares, and you'll find live entertainment, unique food trucks, family activities and more on Saturdays in downtown Redmond.
Off the Branch Farm & Market
Famed locally for its crisp and aromatic apple ciders, this farm uses a vintage cider press that's well over 100 years old to produce several varieties of cider. The quaint, wooden farm store offers aged vinegars, fresh eggs, local honey, cheeses, fruits, jams and much more. Many of the products are made from fruits cultivated in the farm's orchards, while others highlight different local farms and producers. This is a great stop on the way to or from wine tasting in Woodinville.
Keep It Simple Farm
If you're looking for a more hands-on experience, head to the Keep It Simple Farm, a 15 minute drive from our Redmond apartments. There, you can pick your own organically grown vegetables, depending on what's in season, take a walk along a creek to see wild salmon spawning in the fall, or take a class on foraging for wild food.
