Just sixteen minutes from our Redmond apartments is a destination featuring fine art for every space.
We are talking about the Parklane Gallery, and it represents over forty northwest artists who work in an array of mediums.
The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, and resident artists include:
Forrest Goldade is an acrylic and watercolor painter who paints any subject that interests him. He considers himself to be an impressionist realist and often takes inspiration from his travels to Hawaii and the Oregon coast. Forrest believes that painting is a contemplative process and that his pieces represent only what the viewer brings to the experience.
Like most children, Sylvia Portillo loved to draw. She grew up visiting art museums and became interested in glassblowing, clay sculpting, and other mediums after moving to Seattle in 1969. Today, Sylvia focuses on botanical and wildlife art. This allows her to combine her love of creating with science, and it's the best way that she knows how to share the wonder and beauty of nature.
Born in a rural Taiwan town, Ann Gan was a free-spirited child who loved to play in the fields. She learned the art of Chinese painting at ten and continued the hobby through her teenage years. After retiring from the software industry in 2009, Ann returned to painting on silk and rice paper. Her favorite style is freehand, and she captures the romantic charm of her subjects. Ann now calls Seattle home, and her work often features the mountains, flowers, and towering trees.
