At Molly Moon's, the mission is to make the world a better place one scoop at a time. Molly Moon Neitzel grew up with a sweet tooth and opened the shop in 2008. She sources 90 percent of the ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. Her team works with everyone from beekeepers to strawberry farmers to produce the most creative local flavors. Choices include Yeti, Union Coffee, and Scout Mint (made with Thin Mint cookies purchased from area Girl Scouts).
Molly also believes in giving back. That's why she donates one percent of her profits to food banks and other nonprofit organizations.
Sweet Alchemy serves small-batch ice cream made from scratch. The shop opened after Lois Ko decided to make the best ice cream in the region. She graduated from Penn State's Food Science course and takes pride in using ingredients from local farms. Sweet Alchemy has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp and features a friendly staff and shabby chic decor. Flavors include Persian Rose, Monkeyberry Bash, and Aztec Chocolate.
Established in 2008, Full Tilt offers all-natural ice cream. It's where locals gather to enjoy a cool treat while playing pinball and listening to music. The friendly staff provides samples, and the portions are large. Flavors include Mexican Chocolate, Thai Iced Tea, and Sub Pop.
