Independence Day is on its way and there are plenty of local activities to get you outdoors to enjoy the warm weather and celebrate with your community. Here's a look at four upcoming events this 4th of July near Parkside.
Head down to the city of Renton for their Fabulous 4th of July Celebration at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park. The fun starts at 9 a.m. with the Sand Blast Volleyball Tournament, followed later in the day by stage entertainment and a fireworks display at 10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring their own snacks or take advantage of the local restaurants.
This parade will start at Market and Central beginning at noon, followed by a community picnic featuring local vendors and music in the pavilion at 3 p.m. Stick around for the fireworks display on the waterfront at 10:15 p.m.
Finally, the city of Newcastle will be hosting their very own celebration beginning at 6 p.m. at Lake Boren Park. Come out and enjoy food, friends, and tunes throughout the night before a professional display by Head Pyrotechnician Matt Badgley and his crew. They will also give guests a behind-the-scenes look into the work of Alpha Pyrotechnics.
For those that would like to join, there will be a Newcastle Softball Classic starting at 2 p.m. at Risdon Middle School. Everyone is welcome!
